Modern & Contemporary Furniture Stores in Austin

Modern living room showroom with a low sofa, arc lamp, and lounge chair in Austin

Modern furniture in Austin clusters in a few places. Domain NORTHSIDE has three showrooms on neighboring blocks. Downtown has three more within about a mile of each other. The rest are single stops in East Austin, South Lamar, South Austin, and the northwest side.

Every address below comes from the store’s own website as of October 2026. Call before driving across town for one specific piece.

Modern, contemporary, and mid-century

Stores use these words loosely. A few practical differences:

Before you go

  1. Measure the room, the doorways, and any stairs. Low modern sofas are often deep, and depth is what gets stuck in a doorway.
  2. Ask whether the piece on the floor is in stock or made to order. Many of these stores build upholstery after you order.
  3. Ask for fabric or leather swatches to take home. Showroom lighting is not your lighting.
  4. Get the delivery price and what it includes. Our delivery guide lists the questions to ask.
